Frequently Asked Questions

Faith-based, fiduciary wealth management for high-net-worth Christian families

Biblically Responsible Investing

financial cornerstones logo

What is Biblically Responsible Investing (BRI)?

BRI aligns investments with biblical principles—seeking companies that meet values-based screens and avoiding those that conflict with Christian teachings. We document our screening and oversight process and make it available to clients. Screen it and Clean it

Will BRI limit my returns?

No. We design diversified portfolios that seek market-competitive returns while respecting values screens. Portfolio construction, tax efficiency and risk management remain central so values-based constraints don’t sacrifice long-term outcomes. Here are some studies that suggest that BRI does not inherently sacrifice returns compared to broad markets:  some even show outperformance due to avoiding high-risk “vice” industries.

How do you charge for your services?

We are fee-based (AUM / percent of assets) and transparent. We detail fee tiers, minimums and any additional service charges on our Fee page; there are no hidden commissions. View Fees

Who holds the assets (custodian)?

Client assets are held at an independent custodian, Charles Schwab and Co., Inc. This separation protects custody and facilitates consolidated reporting.

What is your account minimum?

Our typical minimum AUM is $500,000. For specialized planning clients or family engagements we sometimes consider exceptions based on need and complexity.

How do you manage risk?

Risk management is built into our process—diversification, asset allocation, tax management, liquidity planning and periodic rebalancing. We also stress-test client plans for downside scenarios and income needs.

How do you avoid conflicts of interest?

We disclose any affiliations, referral arrangements, and compensation. Our compensation structure is fee-based, and client interests guide recommendations.

financial cornerstones logo

Do you offer virtual meetings or only in-person?

We offer both—virtual and in-person meetings (serving The Woodlands, Houston and virtual nationwide). We adapt communication cadence to client preference.

How often will we meet and how will you report?

We provide quarterly performance reports and periodic strategy reviews (minimum annually, more often for active planning stages). Clients also have secure portal access for statements and documents.
